Deutsche Aircraft Newsletter Q3/2024
A new era of aviation is on the horizon. As we come to the close of Q3, we’re pleased to share the successes we’ve celebrated this quarter, particularly during the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow. Now take look at the latest developments from our journey during this quarter:
Showcasing the Advanced Capabilities of the D328®: In July, we hosted the Paradays International Parachute Event at our headquarters at Oberpfaffenhofen Airport. This gathering of elite special operations forces from more than 12 nations featured parachute jumps from the D328® aircraft, highlighting its versatility as a Special Mission Aircraft. The D328® is equipped with an EASA-approved In-Flight Operable Door (IFOD), enabling efficient aerial delivery, particularly for humanitarian aid missions.
We also celebrated together with Sierra Nevada Corporation the significant achievement in the C-146A/D328® programme as fleet reaches 200,000 operational flight hours. The C-146A, known as the “Wolfhound,” by the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). D328® turboprop aircraft has surpassed 200,000 operational flying hours, proving itself instrumental in meeting global mobility requirements.
Major Milestones Celebrated at Farnborough International Airshow 2024: We celebrated a key development milestone in the programme with the initiation of the D328eco™ test aircraft TAC 1 fuselage cut. This has set the stage for the maiden flight of TAC 1. Our exclusive Chalet 328, a number synonymous with our brand, offered visitors a unique opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art cabin and cockpit mock-ups as well a virtual experience of our revolutionary turboprop in the customer experience centre.
With over 95% of suppliers onboard, we continue to welcome new suppliers to further strengthen the D328eco programme’s robust supply chain network. These include SASMOS HET for the design, development and fabrication of the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS), Triumph for the precooler and Senior plc for the design, development and manufacturing of the Bleed Air System and the Engine Build Up (EBU) system. CRANE has been selected for the Proximity Sensing System and Jaivel has been chosen to develop the design and manufacturing standards and specifications.
Team Development: Our team of dedicated aviation experts continues to be the driving force behind our mission. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment with a focus on sustainability, collaboration, and excellence, actively supporting the top talent in the industry and inspiring future leaders in aerospace.
During this quarter we saw positive developments for the D328eco and are steadily advancing towards our goal of bringing this revolutionary aircraft to market. We will continue to provide updates as we achieve key milestones.
Best wishes,
